Round Chapel is a gorgeous venue in Clapton, Hackney, and location of Skanda and Paul’s incredibly colourful wedding. It was shared with us by their wedding planner Revelry Events.
HOW DID YOU MEET?
We knew of each other through work. We first got to know each other properly when our paths crossed in a bar. I thought it was all going really only for him to invite his then flatmate over to join us so I naturally assumed that it was going nowhere but (after some chasing) it ended up getting to, well, this…

5 Reasons Why More and More Couples are Getting Hitched in Portugal
Let’s start this article by saying I am biased. As a destination wedding planner in Portugal, of course I want to share the merits of this gorgeous country and what it has to offer. However as 1 in 5 UK couples are now considering getting married abroad according to Destination Weddings Magazine, there is a clear reason why there has been an increase in interest in getting married in Europe and particularly in Portugal, which has seen a sharp spike in its wedding industry from the international market over the past 5 years. This is not by accident dear reader, and in this piece I’m going to share with you, what is tempting couples from all over the world to tie the knot in sunny Portugal. Speaking of which…

Probably stating the obvious here but bear with me, I might surprise you. Portugal is not a sun-all-round-winter-does-not-exist kind of place, so be mindful of anyone who sells it to you that way. Portugal is not all sunshine and rainbows and should never pretend to be. What it does offer is bright, temperate days in the Spring, hot, long days in the Summer and often warm, sunny days in the early Autumn too. For weddings, it’s the ideal evening soiree destination as the warm Summer evenings are great for late ceremonies and dancing into the early hours under the stars.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET
I would like to say it was great romantic story, but it was just an ordinary Friday night out 8 years ago that turned into something we both did not expect but embraced and loved till now.
The blog post today is brought to you by Shropshire Petals who provides real biodegradable delphinium and wildflower petals handpicked and handpacked on their Shropshire Farm. Personally I believe there’s never too much confetti, and if you want to do something a bit different than just a classic shot leaving the ceremony, here’s a few alternative ideas.
The confetti toss is a tradition we all know and love. It’s that dreamy romantic moment on your wedding day, typically just after you have said, “I do” where friends and family shower you with beautiful, delicate confetti. As you are an individual and unique couple, why not capture something a little more fun for your special day? Natural petal confetti growers, Shropshire Petals share their alternatives to a classic confetti shot for your big day.
A confetti shot with a bang
The newest confetti trend has to be Confetti Cannons. They are fun and exciting to use; with a quick twist, out explodes a confetti blast to cover you during your confetti moment. They are fun and exciting to use and can fire up to 10 metres.
Set up a group shot with the bridal party and twist a few Confetti Cannons for a huge eruption of beautiful petals. Filled with your choice of natural petal confetti, as petals are released, they will flutter down gently giving your photographer plenty of time to capture some fantastic photographs. After the initial blast, have fun and be silly in the falling petals for a spectacular confetti moment.
A group affair
The confetti moment doesn’t have to be just for the newly married couple. Add some of your own uniqueness and personality by including props and photo frames for some alternative and fun confetti shots. Order plenty of confetti to ensure you have enough for several group shots to include different members of the bridal party and your guests. Why not supply confetti alongside a photo booth and see how creative your guests can be!
Hope you’re enjoying the wonderful summer! Todays shoot is a little bit different than most of the engagement shoots. As Laura couldn’t join Andy and Adam for their big day, she had an idea to pull all the stops for the engagement shoot – especially that the location was so amazing. She invited other suppliers, styled the whole thing and photographed it beautifully.
Read their story and all about the shoot below!
Andy and Adam met on the 23rd Sept 2009, exactly 8 years later they tied the knot, and they disembarked on a honeymoon of a lifetime at the end of May!
Andy and Adam met in a bar. Breaking all the ‘rules’ they moved in with each other after only a month of dating. 4 months in and Buster their puppy completed their romantic whirlwind relationship.
Adam proposed New Years Eve 2012, on a white sandy beach in Thailand. The fireworks had just announced a New Year when Adam got down on one knee. The perfect proposal stopped there… Adam had borrowed the ring from a friends past relative and lost it almost straight away in the sand… 2 hours of searching went by (Andy disapproving!) and finally the ring was found!
Adam and Andy made their way into a small town to have personalised rings made to remember the time away.
