This elegant wedding was sent to us by the Thomas Bui Lifestyle wedding planning team. This is what the said about the day.

Christian Ridge and Robb Sullivan were married on June 13th of 2015, which also happened to be Robb’s birthday. Robb said marrying Christian was the best birthday gift he ever received.

Christian is originally from England and moved to the States when he was eight years old, Robb is originally from Arkansas and they met four years ago on a cold January night at local bar in San Diego. They have been together since and haven’t looked back.

Christian proposed to Robb while on a trip to England to visit his grandmother. They drove up to Edinburgh Scotland for a weekend getaway, or at least that’s what Robb thought. Christian had planned all along to propose and had already told his family and even the hotel staff were in on the secret. It was a beautiful weekend that neither will ever forget.

The couple chose to have their wedding and reception at San Diego’s Balboa Park Art Museum. They wanted their day to be full of modern flair and refined sophistication; however, stuffy was not an option. Their wedding planner, Thomas Bui, went above and beyond to create an elegant and magical experience for the couple and their guests.

The ceremony took place in the Art Museum’s Sculpture Garden with the iconic Museum of Man Dome & Tower as the backdrop. After the ceremony, guests were treated to tray passed Hors d’oeuvres and signature craft cocktails. Guests were then invited into the museum’s open-air courtyard for dinner and dancing with sparkling chandeliers over head and elegant flowing white draping enhanced the space.

Feast tables surrounded the dance floor and were decked with candles, white peonies, white roses, green cymbidium orchids and succulents. The dance floor was center stage and the scene of much action including the couples first dance, toasts, and lots and lots of dancing to the live tunes of local San Diego band Siren’s Crush.

As the reception came to an end, the party didn’t stop but instead moved inside San Diego’s Art Museum for an after party with late night snacks, cocktails and a DJ spinning tunes to keep everyone on their feet.
