• CLARE AND CORRINA’S THE ELVETHAM FUN WEDDING

Last real wedding of 2018!! How is it end of December already?! We are ending this year with Clare and Corrina and their lovely and fun wedding at The Elvetham. Photographed by Helen Sarah Photography.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

Dating in the gay world is like finding a job, you have to do it online or get referred, as we had no mutual friends. We only had the one option which was online dating which soon lead to an awkward first date in Nando’s and the rest was history.

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION? How DID THE DAY LOOK LIKE?

The inspiration came from things we both enjoy together and things that are important in our lives. We had a rollercoaster themed wedding cake because we both have a passion for rollercoasters, the bigger the better. The signs were written in American Horror Story font because it’s something we both enjoy watching together, amongst other things we decided to ditch the traditional flowers on the wedding breakfast tables and go with chilli plants because Clare has a passion for chillies!

  • DALE & MARC’S BARN WEDDING

This lovely happy barn wedding was shared with us by Sheryl of Oobaloos Photography. Take a look and read what Dale and Marc told us about the planning.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

To be honest, our relationship started out as simple as messaging through a dating app. It was when we decided to meet up that the nerves really set in. Although they were short lived as we seemed to hit it off from the moment we met. We had a simple day date to get to know each other more face to face, then we decided to meet up later that evening to go out for a meal and watch a movie. From there we have been best friends and enjoyed getting to know each other whilst growing and building a life together.

  • HARRIET AND DJ’S NAUTICAL THEMED WINTER WEDDING

This lovely wedding was send by Harriet and DJ’s photographer – Corina. There might have been winter outside but they had a fun seaside themed wedding complete with a surfboard as a guest book! Take a look and read what brides said about their big day.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

We met 10 years ago outside my (DJ) friends’ salon in south London. I had popped out for a cigarette and Harriet happened to be strolling past the shop and bravely started a conversation with me about my t-shirt and then followed that by asking for my number. At the time she was only 17 and I was 28 so we decided to go our separate ways after a while. Until we got in contact again and got back together nearly 4 years ago.

  • MARTA AND ZOE’S SOULFUL BOHO ELOPEMENT IN CORNWALL

Two gorgeous brides on the wild coast of Cornwall – just dreamy!! Photographer Verity Westcott shared this wonderful story and I’m excited to show it to you!

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

We met for the first time in Paddington station London in March 2010, after chatting for some time online.
As soon as we met, we were head over heels in love and have been ever since. We can’t imagine life without each other & the love grows stronger every day!!

  • TRACY AND LINDA’S LOW KEY GLASGOW WEDDING

Today we have a very stylish wedding in Glasgow. Tracy and Linda were photographed by the fantastic Jo Donaldson Photography (one of our fab suppliers!!)

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

We both strongly believe that it is in your moments of decision making that you create your destiny. It is by the decisions that we made throughout our lives that our paths crossed initially in 1999 when, after one too many vodkas in the Polo Lounge led to Linda feeling bold, she asked Tracy if she could buy her a drink. After dating for a few months our lives took us in different directions. Our paths then crossed again in 2013 while Linda was living in Australia (and Tracy’s Facebook stalking really took hold). On Linda’s return from Australia in August 2015 they finally met up again in person and it was clear we were meant to be.

  • ANDY AND ADAM’S ENGAGEMENT SHOOT ONBOARD THEIR SAILING HOME

Hope you’re enjoying the wonderful summer! Todays shoot is a little bit different than most of the engagement shoots. As Laura couldn’t join Andy and Adam for their big day, she had an idea to pull all the stops for the engagement shoot – especially that the location was so amazing. She invited other suppliers, styled the whole thing and photographed it beautifully.

Read their story and all about the shoot below!

    THEIR STORY

Andy and Adam met on the 23rd Sept 2009, exactly 8 years later they tied the knot, and they disembarked on a honeymoon of a lifetime at the end of May!

Andy and Adam met in a bar. Breaking all the ‘rules’ they moved in with each other after only a month of dating. 4 months in and Buster their puppy completed their romantic whirlwind relationship.

Adam proposed New Years Eve 2012, on a white sandy beach in Thailand. The fireworks had just announced a New Year when Adam got down on one knee. The perfect proposal stopped there… Adam had borrowed the ring from a friends past relative and lost it almost straight away in the sand… 2 hours of searching went by (Andy disapproving!) and finally the ring was found!

Adam and Andy made their way into a small town to have personalised rings made to remember the time away.

  • BEVERLEY AND CHARLIE’S MANCHESTER ROOFTOP TERRACE WEDDING

Today we have another cool city wedding – this time in Manchester. Beverley and Charlie’s day was photographed by Marcia’s Wedding Photography.

    HOW DID YOU MEET?

Well, it’s a great one! We met at our annual Pride Breakfast that happens before Manchester Pride. I am the sister of one of Charlie’s friends, it was a warm sunny day, we spent the weekend together and then I travelled back home. After a number of years talking and becoming friends I travelled to Manchester to surprise Charlie on her birthday and well…the rest is history!

  • STEVE & ROB’S MINTERNE HOUSE DIY WEDDING

Today’s wedding is truly a DYI event – even the flowers were grown by one of the grooms! They made sure their big day was as personal as possible and fun for their guests. It was photographed and shared with us by their photographer Linus Moran.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

We met online. Things didn’t go to plan with the first few times we tried to meet. Rob cancelled at the last minute on the first few occasions due to work commitments but eventually managed to meet on the third attempt. Steve moved to Yeovil and moved in with Rob not long after meeting.

  • DARRYL AND LEE’S WELSH WINTER WEDDING

If you’re planning a winter wedding, here’s a bit of inspiration for you. Darryl and Lee had a lovely and stylish Welsh wedding, beautifully photographed by Aga Hosking.

    HOW DID YOU MEET?

The old fashioned way- over a crowded dance floor

NOW ABOUT THE BIG DAY! WHAT WAS THE THEME AND INSPIRATION?

Our theme was winter wonderland. Winter and christmas is Lee’s favorite time of the year and Christmas 2012 is actually the time I popped the question. So December will always be a special time for us. It was a perfect dry day, a little cold but hey, it’s December.

  • CRAIG & PRAT’S FUN BARBICAN WEDDING

I’m not gonna lie, Barbican is one of my favourite places in the world. So when I saw this gorgeous fun wedding I was like ”hell yeah!!”.

TELL US THE STORY OF HOW YOU MET

A proper old fashioned blind date. Craig’s sister-in-law and Prat’s former house mate are cousins and set us up. Prat had seen a work photo of Craig, but Craig had not even seen a picture of Prat. We arranged to meet at Covent Garden Tube Station, and on the day Craig texted Prat to ask what he looked like. The response was ‘I’d like to say I’m a young, tall guy, but I’m an older Indian gentleman with grey hair’. Craig thought he was going on a date with Penfold (but named Prat!) and was expecting the worst date of his life. Luckily, the reality was very different, and they got on incredibly well (and drank two pitchers of Margaritas!) and it went from there…
